The Zen of You and Me ~ the landscape of Us

"When I breathe in, I remember who I am.

When I breathe out, I make room for who you are"

Our coming together has a geography.
First, there is the country of Me—
my borders, my well-worn pathways,
the silent architecture of my own mind.

And there is the country of You—
your vast landscapes, your private seasons,
the beautiful, unfamiliar language of your history.

"Standing alone, we are simply fragments of the earth. But when placed intentionally together, leaning into one another, something sacred happens"

Too often, we meet at the border like soldiers,
guarding our territories with the armour of our wounds.
We listen only to plan our next defence.
We look, but only see what we wish to change.

But the Zen of Us invites a different posture.
It asks us to sit still at the frontier.
It asks Me to quiet my own roaring winds
so that I may finally hear the quiet currents of Your waves

When I breathe in, I remember who I am.
When I breathe out, I make room for who you are.

In this deliberate space, the borders begin to dissolve.
Not because we lose ourselves,
but because we discover a third country.

A sacred, open sky that belongs to neither of us alone,
yet holds us both completely.

This is the bridge where separation ends, and connection begins.
Where our differences are no longer a threat,
but a mirror reflecting my own awakening.
Where my stillness becomes a safe harbour for your storm.

Here, in the quiet clearing between You and Me,
we find the Great Peace.
Two shores, one ocean.
Two breaths, one rhythm.
The perfect, unfolding Zen of us.

Look out at the shoreline, where the raw earth meets the endless movement of the sea. If you watch closely, you will see stones gathered from the tide—each shaped differently, rough-edged or worn smooth by its unique history. Standing alone, they are simply fragments of the earth. But when placed intentionally together, leaning into one another, something sacred happens.

They create an archway. A self-supporting balance where separate weights find a singular, shared centre. If you remove one, the architecture shifts. Together, they form a sanctuary—not by standing perfectly rigid or completely independent, but through the brave and delicate art of mutual support.

                                                               The Sacred Current

The Softening: We shed the heavy armour of transactional living. We stop waiting for the other to reach out first, choosing instead to open first, soften first, and offer grace first.

The Clearing: We sweep away the old mirrors of projection. By meeting our own shadows with compassion, we dissolve the fog of past wounds and finally see our beloved clearly—not through the lens of what we fear, but the truth of who they are.

The Devotion: We recognise that love is a living altar. It is not a passive feeling that visits and leaves, but a conscious, daily rhythm of turning toward each other, choosing repair over distance, and returning to love as our natural state.

The Embodiment: We drop from the mind's noise into the body's quiet wisdom. Through shared breath, stillness, and deep presence, we expand our capacity to hold and be held, allowing love to move through us without resistance
